The appellation of the Digital Bangladesh Task Force has been replaced with the Smart Bangladesh Task Force by the government. The administration is progressively making a move towards the fourth industrial revolution by prioritizing industrial development through sophisticated technological advancements, the cultivation of a skilled workforce, and the conservation of the environment.

The terminology 'Smart Bangladesh' denotes the creation of intelligent citizens, society, economy, and government. Moreover, the Smart Village will significantly contribute to improving the delivery of various services by both public and private sectors, the development of food supply systems, and renewable energy sources. The country is transitioning from 'Digital Bangladesh' to 'Smart Bangladesh' by 2041 in continuation of this vision.
